Special Olympics London: Basketball, Bowling, & Volleyball

Special Olympics London Ontario presents opportunities for WRC members to participate in three exciting sports! Continue reading for further details.

Basketball Competition

The first volunteering event is a one-off basketball competition for 11 teams in 3 divisions. In addition, health professionals will be attending to meet the athletes as part of their Healthy Athletes Special Smiles program. If interested, sign-up here!


Available Roles:

  • Officials Table (Little Gym) - 2 volunteers

  • Runner & Score Marker - 2 volunteers

  • Food Services - 3 volunteers

When: April 1st from 8 AM - 3 PM

Where: Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary School


Bowling Tournament

Special Olympics London Ontario is holding a Bowling Provincial Qualifier tournament (5-pin and 10-pin bowling). They are looking for 2-3 volunteer runners to go through bowling lanes, gather score sheets, and bring them to data administration. If interested, sign-up here!


When: April 2nd from 9 AM - 12:30 PM

Where: Fleetbowl Bowling Center, located on Proudfoot Lane in London


1 on 1 Volleyball Partnership

Special Olympics London Ontario is recruiting volunteers to work with athletes on a weekly basis at their volleyball practices to help them (1 on 1) develop their skills. Volunteers will also play volleyball games at the end of each practice to continue role-modelling athletes.
